In a country location in the grounds of "Coates Castle", a mansion linked to nearby Petworth House, stands "Castle Cottage". Surrounded by woodland and pretty gardens it has a decidedly romantic and peaceful atmosphere. The rooms are beautifully decorated with double doors opening onto balconies overlooking the garden. Beds are large and comfortable and the private bath rooms have soft fluffy towels and hand-made French soap.Breakfast is served in the stone walled conservatory and uses the finest ingredients; free-range organic eggs, quality bacon and sausages, home-made preserves and good tea and coffee. Continental breakfasts , vegetarian or special diets can be catered for. There is ample parking and bicycles can be stored under cover.Evening meals can be taken at a variety of good pubs and resturants in the area. Walkers can choose from a variety of footpaths leaving from the front door taking them through the local woods with wonderful views of the South Downs ord down to the river Rother. The South Downs way is close by. There are many attractions and places of interest nearby. Racing at Goodwood, polo at Cowdray Park, the stately homes of Petworth, Parham, Uppark, Arundel Castle.The Amberly Industrial museum, the Weald and Downland Museum and Goodwood sculpture Park are all close. There are many noteable gardens for garden lovers to visit such as Denmans, Parham House, West Dean.Wildlife enthusiasts can visit the Wildfowl and wetlands trust and local nature reserves.
